The Story Behind IRL Performance Coaching

For over 10 years, I coached at some of Canada's leading universities, Acadia, Saint Mary's, and the University of Regina. I helped athletes get stronger, faster, and drafted into professional sports. But I kept seeing the same problem everywhere: talented athletes following generic programs, hitting plateaus, and never reaching their potential.

They deserved better.

In 2021, I made a decision that changed everything. I left the security of university coaching to create IRL Performance Coaching, a practice built on bringing proven, professional-level training to serious competitors everywhere.

I decided to train with Ian to improve my speed, explosiveness and overall strength so that my game could better translate to University Football. The online route allowed Ian to give me field and weight lifting workouts as well as recovery sessions. The Workouts were different from others I had seen in the past, very athletic-focused. My acceleration, balance, agility, top speed and strength all had gotten better very quickly, and I could feel it playing flag football in the summer and during training camp at York. I was cutting better, blocking better, and was noticeably faster than most. I loved the online program, have recommended it to many younger players who aspire to dominate in High school or who want to play at the next level. I will be joining Ian’s program again after my first University season to hopefully show out in camp again.
